3D modeling + Motion
My project explores ideas of deforestation in tangent with oddly satisfying animations in an utopic, colorful world to make the viewer question the content they are consuming and the message behind it.
With 3D animated oddly satisfying content that is consumed through media, normally, there is an immense lack of narrative. Instead, these animations focus solely on visual aesthetics and consumption with no substance, allowing us on platforms such as TikTok to watch forever, fully distracted and ignoring any sociotal substance for a full, brainless, immersion. My content challenges these ideas, criticizes society's overconsumption and disregard of climate change, and to shows how fragile these social systems and our environment truly is.
Additionally, I want to challenge the types of content that are prioritized through the media cycle and bring attention to issues that matter. My goal for the project was to make a aesthetic, and cute scene, that looses its status as such by having trees get chopped down, creating a lack of life and nature.
For my project, I intend to explore ideas surrounding endless brainless immersion in social media through abstract and overstimulating animations and visuals.
This project expands on project one's concepts of questioning brainless content and dives into the feelings of addiction and being trapped that social media creates. I utilize visuals from my first project such as the water, which has now grown more intense, as well as the simplistic geometry of the leaves of the spheres, which are now represented as eyes. I wanted to use the blender technique of “videos as textures” to play with this idea of being surrounded by screens and constantly watching content. This project is meant to be discussing overstimulation and overconsumption.
